The Opportunity

DBS sought to strengthen its sustainability journey by adopting a smarter, more data-driven way to manage its environmental footprint. With 48 locations across Singapore, the bank needed a unified platform that could monitor and measure energy consumption across power, lighting, air conditioning, equipment, and receptacle loads.

Beyond tracking usage, DBS aimed to establish a clear baseline for resource consumption, identify opportunities for energy efficiency, and explore renewable energy installations. The initiative also needed to support accurate carbon emission reporting, guide abatement planning, and engage both internal and external stakeholders through tailored, persona-based experiences.

Our Approach

To address DBS’s requirements, we implemented the VG Core Utilities & Asset Management solution, combining hardware installation across its Singapore branches with a unified energy monitoring dashboard. Sensors and meters were installed at each location to track electricity consumption across lighting, air conditioning, receptacle loads, and other key systems, while the dashboard centralised all data for easy access and analysis.

This integrated setup provided DBS with real-time visibility into energy usage at both individual branch and portfolio levels. It enabled the bank to compare performance across locations, identify high-consumption areas, and pinpoint opportunities for efficiency improvements.

The Outcome

With VG Core in place, DBS gained a clear, data-driven baseline of its energy consumption across all 48 Singapore locations. The unified dashboard provided actionable insights that allowed facility teams to address inefficiencies, track energy performance over time, and implement targeted interventions.

This visibility enabled the bank to compare usage across branches, identify high-consumption areas, and make informed decisions to optimise energy management and reduce operational costs.
